My late father’s motto — “Care for others as well as you would care for yourself” — is the fundamental philosophy of The D. H. Chen Foundation, driving its vision and mission. Thus, we embrace empathy, compassion and understanding, engaging directly with our partners and beneficiaries in order to offer them optimal financial, social and professional resources to address community needs.
In the knowledge that our resources are finite, and in order to achieve maximum impact, we have chosen to focus on the three areas that were of paramount importance to our Founder:
Education and its power to effect change by providing higher learning opportunities to children and young people.
Medical Research and Healthcare and the unprecedented research now being carried out to deal with some of the most profound challenges related to our physical and mental well-being.
Buddhist values and the promotion of its principal tenet of making the world a better and more caring place.
We see a great deal of hope and promise in the future and guided by my father’s humanitarian ethos and philanthropic aspirations, we are confident that our investment today will have a positive impact tomorrow.
