Today’s youth face tremendous challenges in career planning – from limited access to resources and job market uncertainty to growing concerns around career wellness. Research shows that students, teachers, and mentors alike recognise a pressing need for a centralised, supportive platform that not only provides career information but also equips youth with the skills and adaptability needed to navigate today’s fast-changing world of work.
In 2025, The D. H. Chen Foundation has supported “any way” (談談是道), an enhanced version of the hybrid platform of “I am…” Youth Portal launched by St James’ Settlement in 2019, transforming career development for young people aged 15 to 29 in navigating today’s fast-changing world of work. In addition to the interactive mentorship via a chatbot and real-time advice from mentors featured in “I am…”, this initiative is built as a comprehensive, user-driven ecosystem offering personalised, interactive, and inclusive career guidance that goes beyond information — it equips youth with the adaptability and confidence needed for long-term success.
Through AI-powered tools and a conversation-friendly platform, the programme delivers tailored career insights, deepening understanding of industries and opportunities. To ensure holistic support, the programme integrates career wellness workshops, personalised consultations, and mental wellbeing initiatives, while fostering meaningful connections among mentors and peers from diverse backgrounds to equip participants with real-world perspectives and guidance.
Its collaborative approach sets “any way” apart: young participants are invited to co‑create platform features and content, fostering a sense of ownership and ensuring the programme evolves with their changing needs. By bridging gaps in resources, confidence, and adaptability, the Foundation envisions this programme as a catalyst for transforming and empowering youth in both career development and overall wellbeing.
