Green Monday Foundation (GMF), co-founded by David Yeung who is an advocate of realizing Buddhist values in daily life, has brought tremendous impact in the community by implementing “Hong Kong Goes Green Development Program” to promote and enable green, healthy and sustainable living.
The Program, supported by The D. H. Chen Foundation from 2016 to 2018, has reached over 600,000 pupils and students from kindergartens to universities. More than 800 schools have been advocated on green eating habits, while annual Earth Day Forum and Gala Dinner has successfully connected international and local experts for idea exchange on green living and development.
Yet, the green movement does not just stop here. The Foundation extends its collaboration with GMF to launch a three-year “Hong Kong Green Living Empowerment Program” from 2019 to 2021. Leveraging the influences of celebrity and social media at the Green Monday School Program, Singer Kay Tse and Olympian fencer Vivian Kong are invited as the Green Monday Ambassadors to schools and activities to advocate green diet to students and the community. The GREENovation Forum and the Gala Dinner provide a valuable opportunity for representatives from public and private sectors, social entrepreneurs, food industry leaders to share the latest trends and to exchange innovative ideas.
Being an advocate for capacity building in the philanthropic sector and the core partner of GMF, the Foundation has been supporting the organization to develop a solid infrastructure and to ensure smooth program implementation.
By raising awareness and providing learning opportunities of green knowledge, the Foundation hopes to inspire new generation and the community to cultivate compassion, as well as to lead healthy and sustainable living.
