Promoting compassion-based values through education is one of the core missions of The D. H. Chen Foundation and so, we initiated “Compassionate Children Program” 《慈悲為本生命教育計劃》 back in 2020. With School of Everyday Life as the Strategic Partner, a new school-based curriculum added with various experiential learning components is designed, aiming to plant seeds of compassion-based values in primary school pupils.
After the pilot stage, the second phase of the Program has just commenced and a kick-off Meeting was held on September 10. Principals of the Program’s seed schools and partner schools, representatives of the Experiential Learning partners, as well as advisor and management team members of our Foundation have all shared their insights and expectations of the Program. A sweet ending note was shared by School of Everyday Life giving their handmade wooden pins with a wishing message for Program participants in a blessing activity.
Participating schools of Phase 2 have just incorporated this value-driven curriculum for the coming two school years, and we hope more children will be inspired by experience-based learning and will live compassionately.
