The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship Program, our flagship initiative to nurture compassionate leaders for positive social change, has welcomed the 2022 cohort of Scholars in the Award Reception on Oct 15.

Not only do we recognize the outstanding academic achievement of our new Scholars from the five local universities, but we are also delighted to see them as well as our Scholar alumni fueling with social aspiration. In addition to a few Scholars and Scholar alumni working for the Foundation Office in various capacities, there are more and more joining the social good sector.

“Stephanie Yui Man Kwong, our Scholar who graduated in 2019 and the MC for today’s Reception, is now working full-time at Social Ventures Hong Kong, one of the awardees of the Foundation’s Project Fuel aiming to promote social innovation. Frederick Mui and Asley Tsui, Scholars of 2019 and 2020 cohorts respectively, also worked and is working as interns of JUST FEEL 感講, our Core Partner which advocates compassionate communication.”

Ms. Karen Cheung, our Trustee and Chief Strategist, shared her gratitude in the welcoming note that DHCF Scholars have formed a strong network to put #Compassion into action, contributing to the social good community with their knowledge and talent in their positions. She hoped more will join the force with the support of the Social Good Fund, one of the components of the Scholarship Program.

Another part of the Award Reception is orientation. The new Scholars were able to know more about DHCF and our philanthropic work through the first-hand sharing by our five Institutes and Communications Team. A guided tour of The Mills was also arranged for that our Scholars would get to know more about the history and future development of the heritage. Thank you The Mills HK for arranging the tour, and last but not least a big thank you for our venue partner The Mills Fabrica. 

The Award Reception is just a start of our Scholars’ amazing journey. We look forward to making differences to our community with social good together with more and more Scholars in the future.

The five local universities of our Scholars are The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The University of Hong Kong.
