Supported by The D. H. Chen Foundation (“the Foundation”), The Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Tseung Kwan O Aged Care Complex (“HKSKH TKO Complex”) has organized the first forum for the Hong Kong Time Bank Platform Inauguration on September 19, 2020 – a part of the three-year Time Bank program “Weaving of Wellness – Seniors Mutual Help Development Project”.
Over 600 audiences from the nonprofit sector, academic institutions, funding organizations as well as the local community have participated in this online forum, learning a wealth of knowledge and experience from professors of The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong on Time Bank and Health Equity; representatives from HKSKH TKO complex, St. James’ Settlement, Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centre and Tin Zi Zok Wai sharing their valuable experience of their Time Bank operations; and computer science professor of The University of Hong Kong as well as founder of a technological social enterprise on how technology offers solutions to Time Bank application.
Mr. Peter Poon, Chief Program Officer of the Foundation, also talked about the Foundation’s philanthropic philosophies and the two-way equal approach in our interaction and companionship with HKSKH TKO complex.
In addition, representatives of the Hong Kong Time Bank Platform co-founded by the HKSKH TKO complex, St. James’ Settlement, Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centre, Tin Zi Zok Wai and HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre, made a joint declaration of guiding principles on sustainable Time Bank development in Hong Kong.
